Pastor Vernon Austin

The Texas Mass Choir Highlights Service of Lufkin Resident, Pastor Vernon Austin
Vernon Austin was recently recognized by the Texas Mass Choir for his service on the Board of Directors for the organization. Rev. Austin has been a member of Texas Mass since it’s inception in 1983. During his 37 years affiliation, he has served as Chaplain, Head of Security and facilitator for the Nurses Guild. His volunteerism has extended to the national organization where he also serves as a member of the security team. Locally, he has been the Chapter Representative of the East Texas Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America for 30 years. He is the Pastor and founder of the New Jerusalem Christian Center located in Lufkin, TX.

Texas Mass Choir is comprised of 13 chapter/community choirs throughout the state of Texas affiliated with the Gospel Music Workshop of America founded by the late Rev. James Cleveland.

 

Some Interesting Facts About Texas Mass Choir:
The Choir has multiple recordings, the latest of which is “Generations of Praise”. Texas Mass Choir has been voted “Choir of the Year” by Texas Gospel Music Excellence Award on numerous occasions.
